Doug Reed - United States (San Francisco)
United States (San Francisco)
I have been working with Rails since early 2006. Currently, I run engineering for a venture backed start-up called BillFloat. My professional bio is below.
Doug leads engineering at BillFloat and is responsible for building product, QA, technical operations, and security. Prior to BillFloat, Doug was the co-founder and CTO of Cake Financial. Cake was an online social investing site and TechCrunch 40 company that was acquired by ETrade. Doug built Cake’s engineering organization from scratch, including the web site and its back end financial account aggregation platform, and was responsible for the security of Cake’s $1B+ in portfolio data. Prior to Cake, Doug was responsible for the back-end of Quicken linking the millions of Quicken users to their accounts at over 3,500 financial institutions as its OFX Architect. Doug also built and managed PayPal’s credit card gateway with Wells Fargo that supported all of PayPal’s 100MM users and its $1B+ in credit card transaction processing every month. Doug is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University where he received his BS in Computer Engineering. He is also the father of two girls ages 12 and 13.
